Thurra & Mueller
Situated about 5 kms from the Point Hicks Lighthouse on the road to Cann River are the Thurra River and Muller Inlet campgrounds. These campgrounds provide a chance for isolated bush camping at its best.
The Thurra River campground has 45 sites dotted along the track which leads from the Thurra River to the Point Hicks Lighthouse. Each campsite is surrounded by bushland and all are only a short walk from the Thurra surf beach or the Thurra River itself. There are communal toilet facilities and campfires with firewood available from the campground managers.
The Mueller Inlet campground has 8 sites and is situated on the banks of the Mueller Inlet. Campsites have outstanding views across the inlet towards the park and surf beach. This campsite is ideal for those who enjoy canoeing right from your front door. There are communal toilet facilities however no wood fires are permitted in this area.
Campsites are available all year round. Bookings are only necessary over the Christmas New Year and Easter periods ( see details in box below) At all other times select a vacant site and the manager will visit you in the evening.
